Help needed with understanding Interactive brokers fees, and/or commissions
Hi all, I'm pretty new to using Interactive brokers and I'm investing solely into SXR8 S&P500 ETF. My account is set to tiered pricing, and the fees for buying another share of SXR, currently valued at ~396 EUR, shouldn't exceed more than ~20 cents given the 0,05% fee. That said, when I preview a new order for a single share of SXR8, the amount of cash I'd need to settle it is a over 20 EUR more than the price of the share. Can somebody help me understand the fee/cost structure here? Thank you
I trade crypto most of the time, don't know much about forex instead. As you probabily know, major crypto exchanges with low fees( e.g. Bybit and Binance) distinguish between market maker and market taker fees (the second being higher than the first one usually). My question is: are Forex trading fees( brokers that provide accounts with low spreads and commissions) cheaper than Crypto trading fees? This is regardless of the lot size or whatever. Thanks.

Do the elimination of fees for other brokerages affect your plans to use M1 as your brokerage of choice in the future? Interactive Brokers, First Trade, and Charles Schwab are now commission-free to trade.
Selecting a forex broker beyond spreads & commission
I’ve been meaning to ask all my forex traders if they had chosen their brokers based on just spreads and commission or had they taken other factors into consideration as well. If yes, then which were those factors?
What's the point/benefit of using brokers that charge commission fees?
For the traders that don't use commission free brokers to trade options is there a benefit from using those platforms that you don't get in commission free brokers? Just asking out of curiosity i want to hear from those who pay commissions why give up some of your gains when you can trade on some platforms and not have to give up any gains at all. Signing up with Interactive Broker IBKR. Broker accounts commission fees? Monthly fees?
I am intending to sign up with IBKR, but upon reading the documents before signing they state that.. "If total commissions paid during the first 8 months are less than the required minimum, the difference is paid as a maintenance fee. Example: USD 10,000 minimum - USD 7,000 commissions = USD 3,000 maintenance fee :: with the minimum being 10,000USD" And "If total commissions paid during any month after the first 8 months are less than the monthly minimum, the difference is paid as a maintenance fee. Example: USD 2,000 minimum - USD 1,400 commissions = USD 600 maintenance fee. :: with the minimum being 2000USD" So I must be understanding this incorrectly because as someone coming from Ameritrade, this sounds ridiculous for the individual investor? So if I intend to buy an etf and just leave it be, I will be charged 2000 usd maintenance fee?? Just need some light shed on this with what it actually means as I'm sure I have it wrong. Then I've read at a bunch of places that there are monthly fees of 10usd but then others say there is none. Can anyone explain what it is presently? I've also ticked that I would like to trade in multiple exchanges including Australia, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong. Do these add any additional fees or are those just so that they can get my declaration that my country of residency have a tax treaty with those chosen? Thank you all for the help and education!
Forex Scam Alert：Kwong is a scam broker! The investor wanted to withdraw $100,000 from his account but Kwong demanded that he must first pay 10% tax and a 3% NBFI AML fee. By the time the investor had completed payment, Kwong had already run off with the money!
I have an account with InteractiveBrokers and I'm wondering about a couple of things:
The commission that I'm charged for the same ETF varies between 3.25 EUR and 6 EUR. For example, on 6th Nov I bought 28 shares of IWDA and was charged 3.25 EUR. Yesterday, I bought 7 shares of the same ETF and was charged 6 EUR. Does anybody know where the difference comes from? If anything, I'd have expected the smaller trade to carry the smaller commission.
My second question is a bit more generic and I suppose it applies to other brokers as well. I'm looking at regular, long-term investment in ETFs. If my broker charges me 6 EUR for every trade, and I have 2-3 ETFs to spread my investment, each month I'd be paying ~15 EUR just to buy. Is this warranted for smallish investments e.g. 200-300 EUR per month? Does it make more sense to do batch e.g. quarterly?

ETF fees on Interactive brokers + any other fees for investor buying and holding ETFs?
Hey! I am looking for a broker platform with access to Moscow Stock Exchage. Currently using DEGIRO - but they don't seem to support it. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=45712 I found the article above - does it mean I can buy Russian ETFs on IBrk? Also what kind of fees can I expect when having IBrk account? I plan to buy ETFs most likely every year in January and hold them for 10y-20y+ before selling any.
