Trying to develop an off-grid home site and looking into solar as a power source solution. Having a lot of trouble with the units of measurement involved.

According to my on-grid power bills, I use about 550kWh in the summer, and about 350kWh in the winter. I can wrap my head around that.
Most power sources appear to be measured in terms of kW output, and I have absolutely zero idea how to wrap my head around that. If my peak power usage is ~550kWh per month, then how many kW of output do I need to be able to produce to keep up with my demand?
Edit: wait, would I literally just divide my kWh usage in a month by the number of hours in a month? Is it that easy? If there are 730 hours in an average month, and I use 550kWh of power, does that mean I'd need to be producing at a constant rate of 550/730=750 watts to keep up? (Obviously this would assume I don't have variance in power requirements or power production, which isn't how the real world works--I'm just trying to get a handle on the units of measurement here.)

Here's the wiki article that describes ancient Russian units of measurement. Like any country, before the Enlightenment Russians developed their own units for length, weight, volume and area - and like everywhere, they were often based on one's body, like "an elbow", "a step" or "a palm". Have you encountered any of these?
Basic units of length
The article lists more, so I urge you to check it out. There are a few interesting observations that can be useful for learners:
  • First, like in any language, these units left their trace in proverbs. You can still encounter phrases like "бешеной собаке семь вёрст не крюк", "косая сажень в плечах", "семь футов под килем" in modern speech.
  • Second, many of these units became obsolete surprisingly late. For instance, if you find old blueprints for prominent 19th century buildings, you'll find that the columns of St Isaac's Cathedral in St Petersburg are 8 саженей high, and the columns of the Bolshoy Theater are 7 саженей, which leads to weird decimals in modern units. So you'll also see quite a few of these used if you're into classical literature.

Just curious, since the US doesn't really use metric in everyday life, is measuring things in feet/inches/miles, or using Fahrenheit, or weighing things in pounds/ounces, etc. taught or at least addressed in English classes?

I cannot exactly imagine what units of measurement are like. Sure, I can measure something with a tape or balance. But if someone tells me a guy is 175 cm or 5-foot 4 inch, my mind breaks thinking.

Might be helpful for someone? I keep my Tacro XL in this size container in the fridge (Aus heat) because I move around a lot & need to minimise/keep compact. Fits 1.5 box 1mg + 1.5 box .5mg = 3 boxes & less messy/fiddly if you are on a dose of 2 different measures like me.

I don't know how to deal with american units of measurement

I know this is kind of a meme for Europeans to rag on Americans for using cups and ounces and stuff but it genuinely triggers me. It makes food and cooking so much harder to enjoy. I love to cook and bake but I'm incredibly rigid in my recipes, I'll experiment until I find the perfect gram to gram ratio with a good balance of nutrition and flavour and I can't do that in the US or with US foods because nothing is labelled right. My partner is American, so its not like I can just never touch American packaging, and I may even end up moving there one day. I'm kind of ashamed to admit that one of my biggest fears about moving there is dealing with their measurement systems. But also I had a breakdown over some microwave popcorn my partner left in my cupboard because it wad measured in unpopped cups, or by ounces with 0 indication of whether it was cooked or not, and the packages had 0 indication of their weight or how many so called cups white inside, but you can't open it and check before you cook them. Bleh. Literally the most shallow thing to get upset ovrler and to worry about so much but I can't stop thinking about it haha.
I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks to visit over the holidays and eurgh. Stress. Last time I was there I cooked two times and then lived on take out and snacks (':

pdg units of measurement

Hi all,
I'm struggling with pdg units of measurement and feel dumb even though I definitely crushed AP Chem at one point.
This article from Inito shows normal pdg levels in ng/mL (chart below).

However, in my inito chart, it says pdg is measured in ug/ml.

If I try to convert ug to ng I get some crazy numbers. Any thoughts on this? If my pdg in my Inito chart is 40 ug/mL, how does that convert to ng/mL?

[Recommendations] Been wearing a 34 A from vs for years per their measurement. Always had a lot of gapping. Measurements for the calculator were 1- 28.5 in, 2- 27 in, 3- 26.5 in, 4- 31.5 in, 5- 32.5 in, 6- 30.5 in. It came out as a 28 D/DD. Where is the best place to find this size in the US to try?
