Why? Why? New Zealand (NZ) is a small country and the church just announced building a third one in the North Island. For context, the Hamilton temple has been around for decades and has been recently opened again after being refurbished. About an hours drive away in Auckland, the second temple is being built. Now they are going to build one in Porirua, about a 20 minute drive from the capital city of Wellington. AND, and it's going to be visible from our letterbox. So, I will get to see it everyday. Oh joy. The TBM in the area will be thrilled. What about the South Island? There just aren't enough active LDS to warrant this!! Sorry about the rant. It's been years since I left the church, yet I still carry the wound (which is all but healed) of being a member and the effect it had on my life and others (especially those I taught on my mission and joined the church). Does the church have so much money that they are wasting it now, when it could be put to good use!
